Lucien Accad was a good friend of mine when I was working for the Bible Society in Canada and he was in Lebanon.
I never met his son Mark, but I have talked to him via social media as he is now working at the Arab Theological Baptist Seminary in Lebanon.
Lucien shared a story of a trip he took to town with his son when Mark was 5 years old.
The civil war had just started and shooting suddenly broke out. People were panicking and running everywhere for shelter. Lucien turned to prayer asking God for protection while trying to remain calm so that his son would not panic.
Afterwards, when life seemed to have returned to normal, he asked his son about how he felt, was he afraid? His response was priceless -
I think that this illustrates the important results of loving God and the depth of relationship we can build with our Heavenly Father.

"Of course I was not afraid. Daddy, I was holding your hand."Lucien never forgot those words and they reminded him that if he put his own hand in his Father's hand he would have no need to panic.

"And you saw how the Lord your God cared for you all along the way as you traveled through the wilderness, just as a father cares for his child. Now he has brought you to this place." - Deuteronomy 1:31
