There is no way in the world that most of us get this. So many of get upset when they hear people choosing to follow God rather than their families desires.
Abraham has to be my role model in this area - even though I know that I could not have done what he did. He waits until kingdom come for a son, a heir, and then gets tested by God. God wanted to know if Abraham loved Him more than Isaac. So there was a command to sacrifice.
Abraham submitted and in his absolute trust of God, not knowing what God intended for such a plan contributed to all of us God's incredible love for us too in preparing a substitute...a foreshadowing of His own Son, the ultimate sacrifice.
